Halloween

Thank you so much Aunt Bethy for the robe! Caroline loves it.
Here's Devin following his big sisters example. Caroline waited about 2 seconds before opening up some candy and going to town.

Here are a few of the highligts of tick or treating! Caroline and Mabel knew just what to do.

Brianna had to hold Caroline's hand because she fell down about 3 times in the first 2 minutes of going outside. She also managed to walk right into a glass door. What can I say she takes after me.

Me and my stinky boy.

Here is Ryan trying to teach Caroline how to trade candy. Ah memories! We had a blast in Katy and are very excited to go back again next year. That is of course if the Petersons will let us back :)

Retraction

Alright, after rereading the post "Surgeon in the Making" I realized that it didn't come across the way it was supposed to. The people that wrote his evaluation liked him so much they wanted him to go into general surgery even though they know he's interested in orthopedics. They think he'll be great in any surgery field they just want him to go into general surgery. So that's that, I hope I didn't make it more confusing. Really I just wanted to brag that Shawn did a great job in his surgery rotation, so much for that idea. Anyways, great job Shawn.
On a different note I have made a command decision about what I want to make. The winner is pumpkin cheesecake! I've never made it before and I think it sounded the best, so thanks for all your input. I also realized I need to make a pie before Thanksgiving to try out a new crust recipe, so I'll also be making an apple pie. I"ve got a lot of work cut out for me and with family pictures this Christmas I"m going to need to give some of this food away so if you randomly see me at your door please take the food! I promise I'll do my best to make it yummy! Oh and I'll be sure to post cute pictures of tick or treating.

Surgeon in the Making

We are so proud of Shawn for finishing up his surgery rotation this last week. I"m surprised I didn't write about this earlier. The general surgery rotation was MUCH better than trauma (which was nothing short of traumatizing) and I've decided I"m just fine with Shawn becoming a surgeon. It seems that the attendings he worked under agree with me. Shawn got a great evaluation from them and they said he'd make a great general, not orthopedic, surgeon. Way to go Shawn!

More Weekend Update

They also had face painting (arm in this case) at the picnic and out of all the flowers and butterflies Caroline saw she said, "How 'bout a sake." We made it a little girly by putting some glitter on it. What a tomboy.

Now to Friday, a day at the zoo with Caroline's favorite people, Ryan and Brianna. Here are Caroline and Ryan sticking their heads through the prairie dog lookout.

Devin was so excited to crawl around at the playground. He was very sad to leave his hippo fortress.

Here are my two little nut jobs! They're so cute, I love it!

The highlight of the trip; the carousel! Caroline loves going on there even though it doesn't look like it in the picture. Devin got a ride too, he really liked it, banged on the pole the whole time. Thanks for a great day Ryan and Brianna!

We do have fun!

For all you people out there who think we never have any fun, you're usually right, but this weekend we had a ball! We went to a picnic on Saturday and had a blast. Here is Caroline going down the inflatable slide. I'm more impressed that she climbed up the back side all by herself.

Devin was TOTALLY jealous Caroline was having all the fun.

The sandbox was a big hit too, what is it with kids and putting sand in buckets?

Here is Caroline in her element! She wouldn't get off the thing! It made for a very tired Caroline later that day.
For some reason I can only post 4 pictures at a time so more are coming.
