Bring on Summer

We have had some fun the last few weeks seeing friends for the last time and celebrating the start of summer.  Our closest friends here usually puts on a slip n slide party on the last day of school but because they are moving in a week my friend was still willing to put it on just s little earlier than usual. We love all the friends we have made here and going to cherish all the memories we have made here.

Graham hanging out with his buddy Tyler.  We were so glad to get together one last time before we leave!

One last epic slip n slide party! These are always so much fun.

Graham was invited to a birthday party and it was really awesome.  It was the son of his soccer coach  and their family was so welcoming.  I showed up with just Graham and the coach made me call Shawn and have him bring the rest of the kids.

Caroline collecting goodies from the sturdiest piñata ever.

Devin taking a turn trying to break open the piñata.

And I had to thrown in one of George, because he's just so cute!

Field Day

Sometimes I wonder why I go to field day.  Its not very exciting but the kids seem to like it when I come and I haven't been to school much at all this year.  I'll blame it on George taking two naps a day so when we do get out its usually to get groceries.  I live an exciting life what can I say.

Devin's favorite part were the inflatables of course.

It was fun to see Graham learn how to do the monkey bars.  He is officially ready for kindergarten.

Caroline rocked the sack race and won the first round.

She also did pretty well at this game.  Not sure what its called but it sure looked fun.

I forget how tall Devin is and then I see him with other kids his age and think man this kid is tall!
It'll be fun to see what field day is like in Texas.

Preschool Grad!

Its a little weird to think that when we moved here Caroline was in preschool and last week Graham "graduated" from preschool.  I know I am being really nostalgic lately but moving does that to people, so bear with me.   I was kind of one the fence about doing preschool this year.  I was having a baby, moving, selling a house I was not super excited about teaching.  Luckily I got together with the most easy going moms and it was a really fun year and Graham learned a ton.  So I am glad that I did it but holy cow I could not be happier that I never have to teach a preschool class again.  Sorry George, I'm done!

Sarah, Margaret, and Graham, preschool buddies.

Now their silly faces.

Mothers Day 2015

For the first time in five years Shawn got mothers day off.  It was a miracle.  Shawn made dinner, did some dishes, and I got to take a nap, and then played with the kids.  It was a really perfect day.  Graham even said, "This is the best mothers day ever!" Somedays are really hard with kids but this year mothers day was not one of them.  The kids were so sweet and it reminded me how much I love being their mom.  I love my kids!

They even decorated the cake for me.  Love this!

Soccer 2015

When we first moved here we were so excited to start soccer and I'm pretty sure I blogged about it every week.  Well five years later its no longer at the most exciting thing going on around here, but it was Graham's first year playing so I thought I should document it.  We lucked out with the best coach ever!  He is from Columbia and loves soccer more than anyone I've ever known.  He was great with the kids but also taught the kids a ton.  Graham went from doing cartwheels down the soccer field to scoring goals.  He wasn't the star player but he improved a lot over the last year.  This team was so great and wanted to stay together for years to come so we are really sad to be leaving them for Dallas.  Soccer practice was really fun this season because it was the same time as three other friends so it was great to hang out with friends while Graham practiced.

Graham hanging out with his buddy Ian.  Or Bryce, but I'm pretty sure its Ian.

Graham with Coach Santiago.  He is the BEST!

Showing off some sweet moves.

Corner kick.

Getting some instruction from his coach.

Spring

Winter was too long again this year but its finally warmed up around here and we are soaking up every minute of nice weather we can before we are off to Texas.  I've always loved where we have lived but I"m loving it even more knowing we won't be here in a few months.  I'm starting to get pretty sad.  I LOVE Tennessee.  I am so excited to be close to family and be back in Texas but I'm REALLY going to miss it here.  We have loved how beautiful it is here but the people are what really make it.  I'm not great at making friends and really haven't made many since high school but I have made some amazing friends here and I want to cry when I think about moving away!  So I'm just thinking about my kids playing with cousins and hanging out with my brother and sisters all the time.    Sorry for the weepy stuff but it needed to be said sap and all.

Going on a bike ride at the greenway just minutes from our house.

How is he almost too big for this bike?

Graham was so excited about his giant stick. I will not miss the billion sticks the kids find everyday.

George was there too just hanging out in his stroller.  This is the only one where all kids are looking in the same general area.

Ahh I love this view!

Caroline skipping rocks along the Harpeth.

About a week after our walk along the river Graham learned how to ride his bike!  I love not having any kids in training wheels.  We can go running now!  That is if I ever get over my hatred of running. I am going to miss this place!
