10 Year Anniversary: the reality

I remember when Shawn started medical school and I kept telling myself by our ten year anniversary we will be done with all this medical training nonsense and have a great anniversary. Oh how little I knew then. That was just a dream. What really happened on our ten year anniversary was this. We went to church, renewed our temple recommends, ate some cheesecake, Shawn fell sleep at like 9, and I stayed up and cleaned the bathrooms. Totally the same as I had dreamed right? This is just our reality right now, nothing exciting but hey its ours and I love it, now matter how boring. That being said I am very excited to celebrate properly one year! Love you Shawn!

Me and Devin stayed up and read the books he got for Christmas so it wasn't all bad.

Funky Sayings

When I asked Graham who was in charge today he raised his hand and said, "me"
As I was putting Graham down for a nap he looked up and said, "Me not tired EVER." Nice try.
On the way home from a mother/son activity I was asking Devin a few questions and I guess he had enough because he finally said, "Mommy can you not talk to me right now?"
When Shawn walked passed the kids coloring today he overheard Devin say, "I"m coloring a machine and it poops, and poops." Boys will be boys I guess.
Caroline says to me today, "How about we go shopping just the two of us while dad is on vegitation." Me, "You mean vacation?" Caroline, "Oops, yeah."
Yesterday Caroline asked if Graham was made of plastic. In response Devin said, "No he's made of boy."
As we were sitting down to enjoy some chocolate chips Devin said, "I like chocolate chips, they make me feel good."
Devin was in his room for a time out. When I opened the door to talk to him he ran over slammed the door in my face and said, "I'm not ready to talk yet." He's good at expressing his feelings.
A few days ago when I called Devin by his full name (Devin Michael) he looked at me and said, "No me Michael, me Devin." He's funny.
When I told Devin he needed to share his toy with Caroline he replied, "But I love it." Apparently he thought that meant he didn't have to share it. Sorry kid.
