Snow Days

It has been one LONG week around here.  We had three snow days in a row, well really in Nashville they're more like ice days but you get the idea.  All three kids at home, we can't go outside so we're spending way too much time in close proximity to one another.  Here's a breakdown of how the days went so far this week.
Monday Snow Day 1:  When I got the phone call saying school was canceled I was ok with it.  After a whirlwind weekend with super fun visitors I was ready to have a day to sleep in and relax.  And Devin was even sick on Monday so I didn't have to worry about entertaining them, we had a movie day and I didn't think once about feeling bad about it.

Tuesday Snow Day 2:  I was kind of surprised when they canceled school but thought, there really is a lot of ice still on the roads so it makes sense.  And another day to sleep in, not bad.  Then I remembered I had to take a cake to a nice law firm downtown and have it ready by 2.  Not a huge deal, but I"m not super fast and having all three kids at home makes me even slower.  Plus I had to take all of them to Michaels because I needed a box and some cardboard circles. I tried going the night before without children but they closed early because of weather, really they're just lazy in my opinion.  The kids were fine at the delivery mainly because I threatened to lock them in their rooms for the rest of the day if they didn't behave but after cleaning up the cake mess and folding way too many loads of laundry I was so tired, and still hadn't showered. It was about 5 by then, so I decided to get pizza for dinner waited a while to get it and didn't realize until I put it in the oven that they gave me the wrong kind, so being tired and hungry and pregnant I cried.  It turned out fine and I pulled it together not long after dinner.  I made sure the kids were showered and in bed early so they'd be well rested for school the next day.  Then I got a call saying school was canceled for a third day.  I almost started crying again.  It was 11pm before I got to shower that day.  Not cool.

Wednesday Snow Day 3: I couldn't believe they canceled another day.  The ice was gone and I was mad.  Luckily Devin was better so I told my friend I really needed her kids to come over to entertain my kids so we would all make it through the day in one piece.  It worked.  I got to read my book and even fall asleep on accident because the kids were playing so well together.  If we do have more snow days this year I now know how to cope, just have friends over so I don't have to deal with them.  How is it possible that I'm having another?

I'm really loving all these pregnant posts. But I agree, three snow days is WAY over the top!
