I"m a fool
What was I thinking when I said 1 o'clock church was going to be awesome? It's horrible! My kids go crazy afterwards. They're hungry, sleep deprived, and over stimulated, a wicked combination for lots of tantrums. Like tantrums over alarm clocks, lost blankets, and kisses that Devin can't see. Yes you read that right and I don't understand how he can see kisses either but whatever, five kisses later and he's finally asleep. Luckily by some miracle Graham was able to fall asleep amidst the screaming and is actually spread eagle in his crib. Sundays do have a few positive sides though, Devin gave his first talk in primary today and it was the cutest thing I've ever seen. So I guess Sundays aren't all bad.

Drama, drama
The other night when I was putting Caroline to bed she burst into tears because we hadn't done her reading lesson. The conversation went a little like this.
Caroline: "Mommy we have to do my lesson NOW!"
Me: "Caroline I'm way too tired to do your lesson don't worry about it we'll just do it tomorrow and maybe even do two."
Caroline: "No we have to do it now." (she's bawling at this point)
Me: "Settle down its not that big of deal. What are you so sad about?"
Caroline: "I"m going to forget everything unless we do my lesson now!"
Apparently she thought she was going to forget everything she had learned and would never know how to read unless we did her lesson at that very moment. Luckily I was able to calm her down by telling her that she wouldn't forget everything and most kids her age don't know how to read yet. I'm glad she's so anxious to learn but wow she can be a bit dramatic at times!

I LOVE Primary!
Wanna know why? Because they provide free babysitting. Ok not really but Friday night Caroline and Devin had a primary activity and since we would be down two kids for and hour and a half Shawn and I went out to dinner. It was awesome! And really Graham was so content trying to eat his crayon it was like we didn't have any kids with us. I knew having kids really close together would pay off someday! More importantly Caroline and Devin had a great time eating pizza and learning about the scriptures. So pretty much we love primary in this house!

Snow, Snow and more Snow
That has been the story of my life this week. We've had snow everyday this week and I am now officially ready for spring. It is COLD! The high for the today was 25 and tomorrow its 27. Yuck. And what really makes me hate snow is that I have to shovel my stupid long steep driveway so I don't have to park on the street. Shoveling snow is the horrible, and awful. I'd rather poke my eyes out with hot metal toothpicks, just kidding, but really its not fun and I'm so ready for it to warm up here! Its a good thing we didn't move somewhere colder because I'm a big baby when it comes to cold weather!

2011 Here we come!
I"m really excited for this year, I think it'll be crazy, but fun. Here are some things I'm looking forward to.
1. 1 o'clock church. I never thought I'd enjoy it but now we have tons of time to get ready and by the time we get home and eat dinner, its almost bedtime!
2. Graham goes into nursery which means for the first time in about 5 years I don't have to watch any kids during the last two hours of church or have a pregnant belly to lug around, happy day.
3. Ryan and Brianna coming to visit. I promise we'll have lots of fun.
4. Bethy and Brandon coming for Thanksgiving. Caroline has been talking about it since we moved here, we can't wait.
5. Caroline starts school! I'll probably cry but she's going to have so much fun, we're really going to miss her.
6. Shawn finishing his 1st year of residency, hey every year gets us closer to being done!
7. Visits from anybody else that wants to come, we love having people come!

Resolutions Revisited
I thought I'd take a look at the resolutions I made last year and see how I did. I have to say I'm not very good at following through.
1. I wanted to read 15 books. Who do I think I am Poodle, ok so she probably read 50, I think I read 5.
2. Decorate my house, well I actually did this one because all I really wanted to do was paint. Trust me if your bathroom was purple and gold you would've made sure to paint too.
3. Get back in shape by my birthday, yeah right. That didn't happen but I'm about the same size as after Devin plus just a few pounds, still better than after Caroline.
4. Bring my scriptures to church, I was really good until we moved, so I think I'll keep that one for this year too.
5. Make a friend. I have days when I feel like I don't have any friends but those days are happening less and less, I have friends and its great.
6. Try new places to eat. We did more while in Houston and have tried some places here we just don't eat out ever, so I guess I followed through with that one.
I only fully accomplished 2 out of the 6, not great. What's funny is I thought I was being realistic, ha. I think I"m going to work on these and just add two, do family home evening and go to the temple. Wish me luck.
