Our Whirlwind Weekend

My, my, my what a weekend we had. It was awesome. If you're not in for the long haul (w/out pictures we forgot the camera) here's the skinny, we went to San Antonio and had a blast! For those of you who would like to read on I"ll break down the weekend a little more.
Friday we were getting ready to hit the road right when Shawn got home from call. All was well until I got into the van in the morning and found that our tire pressure was off. I had the feeling on Thursday to go ahead and get new tires, which we really did need and it would have been nice to have it done a day early. So instead of getting the van packed and seeing Peter and the Wolf as planned we spent most of the morning at the Toyota dealership getting new tires. I had very low expectations of the kids and it payed off. They were great. Caroline and Devin literally ran in circles outside to keep busy and I tried to keep them from getting hit by a car. After 2 1/2 LONG hours we had new tires and were ready to pick up Shawn and head off to San Antonio. Other than Caroline not napping it was a great drive, but we didn't really expect her to nap anyways. We met up with my madre and Bethy and Ryan's families at the resort and went straight to the lazy river. Even with kids sitting on my pregnant bell it was really relaxing. We had dinner at Rudy's BBQ which I really miss, holy cow it was good then back to the hotel for smores and bed. My mom was nice enough to have Caroline over in her room for a party so me Shawn and Devin went to bed as soon as we got back to our room.
Saturday we spent the morning playing at the pool, lazy river, eating lunch and Devin did his best to kill himself, Caroline too. Somehow (with other parental help) our kids and Shawn and I survived and we headed off to Sea World for the rest of the day. It was really fun and VERY hot. Wow, I'm glad I didn't bother to try and look cute b/c by the end of the day I looked like mess anyways. We saw the dolphin show (very fun), Shamu show (cheesy but still cool) and the funniest water ski show ever. I'm pretty sure it wasn't intended to be funny but with all the singing and dancing that went on I couldn't help but laugh. The kids loved every minute of it which made the heat, crowds, and dehydration all worth it. I loved seeing them dance to the music, clap at the animals and Caroline thought she was the coolest person when she rode on the baby Ferris wheel. It was great. The kids were great the whole time and we only had a small meltdown, but that's expected though with no naps for two straight days and going to bed late, it could've been much worse. They were champs through the whole trip and thought it was so cool to eat fries in the car on the way home. What cuties. So thanks mom for a great weekend and spending time with us. Thanks to Shawn for driving post call and not killing us. And thanks to the Reeds and Petersons for spending the weekend with us and sharing in on the fun.
