Nothing New

Well there's really nothing going on around here but as I"m trying to make it to my goal of 100 posts this year I thought I'd blog about something I was thinking about the other day.  I was looking at a cooking blog and the recipe they had up was something along the lines of, ganache filled banana cookie muffins, or some other ridiculous thing like that.  All I could think of is "what the crap is that?" and what ever happened to just good plain regular recipes?  Seriously I find them all over the place now like oreos inside chocolate chip cookies,  cake pops, cake in a mug, brownie cakes (no I didn't make that up) a chocolate chip brownie cake pie.  Ok so I made that last one up but I feel like people have moved away from finding traditional recipes that are fantastic to throwing a bunch of sugary treats together and thinking its such a great creation.  When I see stuff like that it kind of makes my teeth hurt, and keep in mind who I am and how much I love to bake.  If you can find a good cake recipe there is no need to add a brownie to it or fill it with cookie dough, I promise people will like it just as much with just some excellent frosting on top.  Am I the only one that doesn't like that stuff?

Ugh... you should join Pinterest. Those things are all over the place! And the captions always say things like, "OH MY GOSH these are the BEST (fill-in-the-blank) EVER! My family calls them crack because they're so addicting!" And I think, you probably just don't know what good food tastes like. I'm totally with you on this.

Oh and if it makes you feel any better I just found something called "gooey chocolate skillet cake ice cream sundae."

Landon and I agree. Landon mostly because he hates change (esp. with his food).

i am with you. just because cookies, brownies, and nutella are all delicious does not mean they should be mixed into one monstrosity of a concoction. gross.
