I'm not going to lie, Mother's day has never been that exciting around here. In the three years we've been here Shawn has either been on call or post call on Mother's Day. I've learned to expect very little so with that in mind today was actually pretty great. Caroline has got to be one of the most thoughtful kids I know. She was about to explode when she gave me my present this morning. She put so much thought into the cup she made me in art, and a glass jar she decorated in class it made my whole day. Devin even made me a card that had a picture of me walking up our driveway. It was pretty good! I was impressed, I loved getting their sweet presents and to top everything off there was a minimum about of fighting and arguing today, truly a Mother's Day miracle. We had chicken nuggets for dinner and I even got to eat chips and not share. Its really the little things that make me happy. My kids are adorable and so sweet, I love that they will still hold my hand and think spending time with me is fun. I'm really very lucky.
Here are some of the things Caroline wrote about me in class. It was a cute fill in the blank sheet they had.
My mom is wonderful! She is 10 feet tall, and weighs 5 pounds (ha!) and is 28 years old. She is as pretty as a butterfly.
When my mom was little, she used to play with her dog. Now her favorite thing to do is cook.
What really makes my mom happy is having with your family. (she told me she forgot to put in dinner) I know she loves me when she tucks me in. I show her I love her by helping her.
My favorite food my mom makes for me is spggety. Her favorite food is rice. (I was surprised by that)
What I love to do with my mom is go shoping. I wouldn't trade my mom for any book!
She's so sweet and spot on with just about everything. Hope everyone had a great Mother's day!
