Thanksgiving

Enjoying our pie after Thanksgiving feast.
Caroline and Devin were VERY excited to have such a fancy dinner.
Caroline enjoying some pre dinner snack. I love that the whole thing fits in her mouth.
As you can see we had a fabulous Thanksgiving this year. We stayed at home and loved it. We took it easy and prepared the pies together which is no easy feat in our tiny kitchen. Shawn and I made most of the dinner together while the kids slept and then had everything set up for them when they got up. I don't think they've ever been so excited to eat food. Devin wanted everything on his plate and got upset when he saw something on Shawn's plate and not his. They were a little too excited and didn't eat much the actual dinner. They were loving the pie afterwards. We also set up a nap zone and watched ELF afterwards. It was a fabulous day and we're really excited to make more traditions next year.

Happy Birthday Devin

Devin was very excited to have presents to open. I wish we could have had his glasses for him because that's what he's getting for him but not until Wednesday. I have to say I've never seen a two year old so concerned about the paper being picked up after tearing it up.
Here he is enjoying his cake. Really he's licking the frosting off the pan, a boy after my own heart!
And here is his cake with the first piece gone. Shawn did a great job making the two and since Devin is into cars we decided to make it a road. And no that's not a football, its a exclamation mark with a lightning McQueen bolt on it. It was fun to make.
Well my big boy is now two, even though he looks like he's three. This year his b-day fell on Thanksgiving but we were able to throw him a little soirée yesterday. He had a good time and was really confused when we started singing to him. He's not used to the attention. We are so happy to have Devin around, he's a real sweetie.

Fort Worth

Shawn had his first interview last week in Fort Worth. Its the first of several to come and it was a great one to start with. He really liked the program and there are some great benefits to living there.

One down eight more to go!

Happy Birthday Shawn

Shawn's birthday was a few days ago but I'm a little behind on posting. We didn't do a whole lot just had some cheesecake and steaks and had a relaxing evening at home. We watched a movie and fell asleep at about 10, actually I'm sure people are falling asleep as they read this. He said he had a good time so that's what's important! Happy Birthday Shawn, we love you!

Favorite Things

This last week has been a little crazy. Mainly because I still have crazy hormones that make me feel like I'm on a roller coaster of emotions. Its really fun. However there were a few things that really made this week great.
1. Shawn taking the kids out to find me TCBY after I had a meltdown about feeling chubby.
2. Shawn taking over all my duties and letting me sit upstairs and watch Cake Boss for 1 1/2 hrs.
3. Watching Caroline sing in church for the first time. She really thought she was big stuff.
4. Listening to Caroline and Mabel talk on the phone for about 20 minutes yesterday, holy cow they are hilarious!
5. Devin being a really good sport after Shawn decided to patch his eye himself with duct tape.
6. Grahams cute little face.
I think if I remember those things more I just might be able to handle three kids.

Gum

Devin hates being left out of anything. He is convinced that he can and will do everything Caroline does and more. Well one of the things we've been vigilant at not letting him do yet is chewing gum. Caroline LOVES to rub it in his face which is a little sad but lets face it letting someone younger than two chew gum is just asking for trouble. Well today Devin had had enough. While me, Caroline, Graham, and Shawn were all upstairs Devin hung back downstairs and decided to take matters into his own hands. He found my gum (which had about 10 pieces in the package) and ate 8 of them before we realized that he was being way too quiet downstairs and needed to be checked on. When Shawn found him holding the nearly empty package of gum Devin didn't even show remorse. Actually he wanted to share his good fortune with Shawn and said, "Gum, dada?"
