Yesterday Caroline had her first field day. I was so excited for her because when I was a kid it was pretty much my favorite day of the year. I think it was everyone's favorite in fact. I kept on asking her if her class had a team name and she had no idea what I was talking about. I was really confused until I walked into the school yesterday and saw how they did field day here. In short it was no where near as cool as my field day growing up. They had about 15 different stations that each child did something at. They had ring toss, bean bag toss, hula hoop, jump rope, giant bowling (which I'll admit was pretty cool), and other stuff like that. Compared with the dizzy izzy (run down a lane spin your head on a baseball bat and run back to the line), hula hoop wars, 100 yard dashes, water balloon toss that I had Caroline's seemed a little lame. And it was inside because of weather which doesn't make anything better. She still had a great time so that's all that matters. Here are some pictures of her day.

At the ring toss.
I loved these growing up. I think it was the first time she had used them and seemed a little unsure.
Jump rope! She's just learned how to do this and is getting better and better.
This station was pretty fun, she was trying to put it through a giant hoop. She really liked it.
It may look like she's got the hula hoop down but she's kind of terrible. Sorry but I'm not one to sugar coat things. And hey its hula hoop, who cares? We might get one this summer to play with.
After lunch they went back to the gym and had a dance/limbo portion. Devin even got into it. I think he's going to love school, or at least P.E.
This was just funny. Caroline didn't look too weird but the faces some of the kids made were hilarious! We had a great time hanging out with Caroline yesterday and I'm so glad she had fun.

I remember buying at least 10 snocones on my field day!
I remember field day being awesome too!! Although I can't for the life of me remember what we all we did, LOL. All I remember is the Tug of War!
I LOVED field day for my kids. (We didn't have it when I was young.) I still remember Jones' Jets, Bethany's first kindergarten team. So fun!
