Pretty Proud

I think my kids are awesome.  They can drive me crazy but honestly I think they are the coolest people ever, really.  Yesterday we got to spend the whole day together and we learned a few new things about each other.
1. Devin can ride his bike without training wheels now!

His training wheels broke about 2 weeks ago and he was determined to ride his bike without them. 

He was SO easy to teach and said to me, "Mommy I'm really proud of myself."  You should be and so am I!

Sometimes he needs a little reminder to look up, luckily he hasn't crashed into anything yet.

2. Caroline will be joining the Encore program at school next year.  Its the gifted program for our school and while I told myself a thousand times it doesn't matter if she does it (still true) I'm very happy for her.  I was always jealous of the kids in that class they did cool stuff!  Anyways and I know that picture is kind of horrible but doesn't she look HUGE?  I swear she gets bigger every week. It was really hot at the game and she was the only one that didn't ask to be taken out because she was too hot/tired.  She's a pretty tough kid.  I think she would have passed out rather than admit she was tired.  

3. And my Graham-cake.  He's hilarious.  All he wants is to be big and do everything on his own.  He no longer likes being called the baby.  He'll correct you and say, "No me big kid."  Some of his favorite phrases lately are, "let me go" "stop it" and "I do it myself"  It makes me sad that my baby really is getting bigger.  Thankfully he still admits when he needs a nap and isn't actually that big.

So basically this weekend we realized our kids are growing up much too fast and we love having family days so we can slow down and enjoy our time together.
