Fun with the Reed and Papa

I feel like things have been moving twice as fast lately.  Its almost the middle of July and school starts three weeks from today!  Ahh!  I"m going to try and put that out of my  mind for a few minutes and recap the fun we had with my parents.
 It was so much fun baking with my mom, listening to my dad read Little Black a Pony about 100 times and hang out.  I was really sad when they left.  I tried really hard to do fun things while they were here but nothing worked out.  It rained almost the entire time they were here so I finally succumbed to defeat and we hung out at the house a lot.  It was great. Shawn was gone most of the time but it was like kind of like having elves around the house helping out.  Every time I went to go clean up it was already done, it was so weird.  It made me realize how much fun it would be to live closer.
Here are some of my favorite things we did.
1. Set off fireworks.  I made a rule to have no fireworks that shot up in the sky and thought we were covered.  Then the first one we set off flew a good 20 feet in the air and landed in our neighbors yard.  Opps!  I really should have taken more pictures of Devin.  He was SO excited!
2. Shawn and I went on a date!  It was fun to get out and I think the kids loved being left alone with Grandma and Grandpa.  They were able to go to their favorite park, get dipped cones, and pick out a toy at the store.  They were so happy when we got home, and already for bed.  It was awesome!
3. Baking with my mom.  We only made brownies and angel food cake but I could've done it the entire time.  It was so fun!
Thanks for spending the 4th with us!  We can't wait to visit in the spring!

We were very careful and lucky that only one person got burned.  Poor dad.

Devin can't wait to do these again next year.  His favorite were the snakes, I thought they looked a little nasty.

Caroline is a little terrified of sparklers she kept asking if she could blow it out.
