Caroline's Music Concert

About a week ago Caroline had a musical performance after school.  Shawn wasn't home in time to make it so I got to take all three boys by myself.  This never ends well I should know this by now and mentally prepare myself thusly.  So we got Caroline to school on time which by the way is 30 minutes BEFORE the concert even starts. Yuck so I get to sit and keep the boys entertained for half an hour before anything even starts, this is not a good omen. George was great he just fell asleep about 5 minutes after getting to the school.  Devin was pretty happy and behaving well. Graham on the other hand was really whiny because he is that way most of the time these days and just wanted to sit on my lap rather then sit by a stranger.  So the lady behind us asked if she could use the seat Graham wasn't using.  I told her of course so she takes it and Graham starts crying, "I want my chair back."  I told him told me since he didn't want to sit there I let someone else use it.  He then told me he wanted to use it now.  Of course he did because he knows he can't have it.  So for the next 20 minutes I'm trying to not get mad at him so I try just laughing it off.  Graham does't like this either so I tell him I can either laugh at him for being so ridiculous or be mad at him.  He continues to be sad for a while and wipe his boogers on other people's chairs.  Gross.  Finally he and Devin start playing but they don't know how to do so quietly.  So the concert is going on and I"m trying to get them to stop butting heads, LITERALLY, butting heads.  Then they fight over skylanders cards they got out of a cereal box and carry on various shenanigans.  By the time the concert is over I'm so ready to go home and can't wait to find Caroline and run out the door.  What was supposed to be an evening about Caroline turned into an exercise in patience with the boys.  Luckily Caroline performed for me before we even left that evening.  Honestly I would have loved to just have heard her play at home and be done with it but I"m sure with out the boys being a bit rambunctious the night would not be seared into my memory for all eternity.  Love my crazy kids.

This was before I had lost all desire to be there and was still amused by Graham's behavior.  That ended pretty quickly.

Caroline did a really good job.  She was so excited about all the songs and it was fun to hear the ones that were her favorites.  I liked the same ones.

She is on the back row with the glasses. Love that she's tall enough to be on the back row.  I can always find her!

Sorry to laugh, but this is REALLY funny! It probably wouldn't help at this point to remind you that boys usually are easier as teenagers? If you survive that long!
