A trip down memory lane

Before I get to the real intentions of this post I thought I'd quick to a little recap of whats going on here. The above picture is one of the highlights of Valentines day. Sorry to post a boring picture but it actually turned out pretty so I had to take a picture. I made this yummy little number for dessert while Shawn put together our favorite calzones that were somehow even better than usual. It was a very relaxing night and much needed. Sunday was much more relaxing than usual I think in part because Shawn reminded me that we met almost exactly 5 years ago. I think that's why I'm feeling a bit sentimental. I keep thinking about the first time I saw Shawn sitting in the office at the MTC reading his partial differential equations book. What a stud. Ah, what a care free time when all we had to worry about was setting up the gym fast enough so we could go hang out. Then all the memories of our dates come flooding back, here are some of my favorites.
1. Squaw Peak. We hiked all the way to the top at the end of April not realizing that the back side of the mountain would still be covered in snow. It still makes me laugh.
2. Shawn invited himself over to dinner one night and found out I was turning 19 that weekend. The look on his face was priceless.
3. Dinner with my friend Meghan at Hard Rock Cafe. Shawn ordered bottomless ribs and I don't think the restaurant was prepared for him. They kept bringing him smaller and smaller plates until he told them flat out he they were wasting their time.
4. Going to Zion's National Park and camping. I almost thought that I could hike Angel's Landing all the way to the top until I had visions of myself plummeting to my death.
5. Our first official date, on my birthday. We drove all the way up to Salt Lake City to go to Olive Garden and see a movie. Something that could have been done just as easily in Provo.
Oh how time flies. If I had only known 5 years ago that I would meet Shawn and be married a mere 10 moths later, I wouldn't change a thing, we have a lot of fun.

Hiking Angel's landing was the scariest experience of my life. I couldn't let go of Brandon on the top. I had nightmares about it. But it was totally worth it.
