Kemah

Yesterday Shawn surprised us with another one of his fun "daycations" (as he likes to say) and spent the day down at the Kemah boardwalk. It was probably the most spontaneous thing we've ever done, sad I know. We have been talking about going down there for about a month and since Shawn will be having slumber parties at the hospital every forth night for the next two months we, or he, decided to take advantage of his last day off and headed off to see the beautiful brown water that is the Texas coast. Really it was a lot of fun, we let the kids play in the water (fountain water that is) took in the sights, let Caroline go on a ride and even went out to lunch. (mainly because in our rush to get out the door we forgot EVERYTHING we would need, snacks, water, sunscreen, camera) We threw caution to the wind and loosened our purse strings to have some fun, and boy did we. My favorite part was on the way home we stopped by Carter's and of course they were having a fabulous sale so we bought the kids new clothes for basically the next year. Poodle would have been proud of my great finds, it was awesome. Other high points of the day were Caroline telling me not to hold onto her while she was on the carousel, Devin throwing almost every stuffed animal he picked up in the toy store, and the kids literally eating an entire loaf of bread at the restaurant because they were so hungry. It was a great day and I can't wait for our next "daycation."

Sounds like fun. I'm sad you didn't take the camera.

That sounds like fun. And you're lucky it didn't rain! Did yall ride the Silver Bullet? It's a rough one.
