Possibly the Longest Day of my Life

Shawn was on call again last night which meant a VERY long day and a half ahead of me. The kids woke up at about 6:30 and I finally gave up pretending to be asleep around 7. I'm fine with waking up early its just not for my kids. Caroline had about 4 time outs by 10 which made those first 3 hours of the day feel like 6 hours of torture. Finally after a huge meltdown, due to the fact that Devin was sitting in my lap reading books even after I had asked her if she wanted to and turned me down, I gave up and threw the kids in the car and went to give into a food craving. I've decided I'm an angry eater, I eat when I'm mad. Anyways I let go of my will power and bought some yummy greasy chips that would surely cure my day. And you know what they tasted so good it really did make my day. Thankfully the kids were ok at the store and by the time we got back it was lunch time. Caroline really enjoyed the chips too and I ate just as many as I did. Then it was beloved nap time. By then I had a huge headache and was not looking forward to watching more kids after nap time. It wasn't too bad though other than a lot of crying by the baby I watched Caroline and her friend had a lot of fun and were easy to watch. After dinner I had given up being creative and let them watch a movie while I cleaned up the house. That was wonderful because I was finally able to enjoy some peace and quite without anything to clean. The kids woke up early again and I'm counting down the minutes until Shawn gets home! Anyone want to come join in on the fun?!

That's definitely not a part of third year that I'm looking forward to. Moms need those breaks provided by dads! Oh well, I guess that's how it goes!
