Poodle Comes to Nashville

We had a blast this weekend hanging out with Aunt Poodle and her friend Katelyn.  It was nonstop action and adventure the entire time maybe not quite that exciting but we sure had fun.  We were able to fit numerous activities into the visit.  So here's a quick recap of our adventures.  Thursday Poodle and Katelyn arrived and since they had spent the last 10 hrs in a car we decided to have a slow first day.  We headed out to see the Grand Ole Opry which I'll tell you right now is not that exciting.  Its still closed so you can only drive past in on the freeway and it really just looks like any other building in Nashville, I guess we'll have to go to a show next time to fully appreciate its awesomeness.  Since that was a bust we headed over to the Parthenon.  For those of you who don't know (me before I moved here) there is an exact replica of the real Parthenon in Greece because as it turns out Nashville is known as the Athens of the South.  It's really fun to walk around and take a stroll.  So later that night we ate calzones and Poodle and Katelyn went to see some live music and I stayed home recuperating from watching extra kids that morning.  Friday we started the day off right and headed to Loveless Cafe for breakfast.  SO YUMMY.  They really do make great biscuits.  I loved the syrup, potatoes, and gravy, and will definitely be going back for some fried chicken which is supposed to be even better!

Then off to the Country Music Hall of Fame.  It was fun but not as cool as the concert in Cheekwood we went to later that night.

We saw the Indigo Girls and it was great being in such a beautiful place enjoying music and being out of the house.
(Cheekwood is so pretty, its a must see when in Nashville)

Saturday was tons of fun.  We headed out to the lake and enjoyed the sun, sand, and water.  On the way home we stopped by the best popcicle place in town, Las Paletas.  They were SO good!  Lots of fresh fruit chunks in each bite, divine!

For the last bit of fun we ventured to the Williamson County Fair.  We had a great time partly because we got in for free and had funnel cake for dinner!  It's so far my favorite weekend here!
Little piggies born the night before, they were so cute!

We also saw BMX pros at the fair, they were really fun to watch.
My boys just hanging out.

We loved having Poodle around, she is SO fun.  We had a blast laughing, singing, sewing, and eating. We can't wait for her to come back!
