Please be careful of my surgery!
Now two of my kids will be able to say this and not be joking. Yesterday Devin had his first visit to the ophthalmologist here and guess what he said. The title kind of gives it away but incase anyone reading this is really dense my poor little boy is getting surgery. It's not a huge deal at all but still I was really hoping all the patching and changing glasses would've done the trick. Apparently not. His doctor decided he is still crossing his eyes too much and the only way to fix it is through surgery. So basically they go in and move the muscles of the eye into a different position to get them to see straight. Sounds intense but he'll get to come home the same day. I honestly think the hardest part for him will be having to skip breakfast. No food 12 hours before and no liquid 3 hours before. My boy loves food and gets pretty cranky when his tummy isn't full. We've been trying to tell him what is going to happen but I'm sure he has no clue what is going on, ignorance is bliss. On the bright side patching his eye has worked and his vision has improved in this right eye and he only has to wear his patch for about 2 hours a day now and not for much longer. The downside is that 70% of kids that need surgery on the eye muscles this young need another before age 5. I think my children are secretly trying to see who can be the most expensive. So far Caroline is still WAY ahead, but her little brother is catching up real quick. Thank goodness for good health insurance! I'm hoping the maybe Graham will be our golden child and be the first one that doesn't need surgery, but I'm not holding my breath!

That is so sad! I hate it when little kids have to have surgery. I hope everything goes ok.
Good luck! He'll do great. We'll be thinking about you.
It took me awhile, but I get the title now. Let's hope Devin fares better than Fernash.
But he won't understand why he can't eat......
Oh, sweet guy. I hope the surgery goes well and he doesn't need another one. When will it be?
