Sometimes I wonder if my kids are normal. I know they don't cause as much trouble as some kids but they sure do a good job of keeping me on my toes. Yesterday it was Caroline's turn to get stitches in her face. While I was taking a shower Caroline pounded on my door and screamed for me as loud as she could. I got out and expected her to be upset that Devin wouldn't stop looking at her or something really annoying like that. Instead I open my door and Caroline has blood streaming down her face! YIKES! From what I can gather from Caroline's explanation of things is she was sitting on a swivel chair right at the top of the stairs and Devin threw a football at her. So Caroline dodged the ball but feel down the stairs with the chair in the process. After I cleaned her up the cut was actually pretty small but it did seem a little deep and it was on her face I thought she may need stitches so I paged Shawn and he came right home. He had been on call all night with no sleep and had to go back to the hospital to get her stitched up. The fact that Shawn spends more time at the hospital than at home finally worked in our favor. Shawn called a plastic surgeon he knows and they did everything right away. He was REALLY nice to do that. So hopefully after a while and lots of mederma Caroline will not be a be scar face.
A slight black eye and stitches but she's on the mend.

What a coincidence! Lexie had to get stitches in the exact same spot on her face about two months ago. It was really small, but deep and only needed 3 stitches. There's a pretty good scar though. Hopefully Caroline's will heal up better =)
Poor caroline. It's scary to have blood streaming down your face (I would know from my childhood). At least it looks like it wasn't too bad. She's such a trooper.
