4th of July

We had a fabulous 4th of July weekend this year. The kids and I headed out to Katy to hang out with family and eat way too much food. My sister's neighborhood had a great little parade that went right past her house. It was so nice because we could go inside and cool off and the actual parade was about 5 minutes long, the perfect length. Basically there was a boyscout troop with the flag then fire engine and then kids on decorated bikes and wagons. Caroline and Mabel were VERY excited. After the parade was over Caroline saw a bike riding down the street and said, "oh look another parade!" Not quite but it was funny. Anyways there is my dad with the girls waiting for the parade to start.

Mabel having fun on the train!
After we the parade we went to the park and got free ice cream, went on a train ride, and got a flower balloon. This was only about 2 houses down from the house which made it so easy to come and leave. It was really fun, I a neighborhood like that someday. We only stayed about 1 hr, and did the activities that had a line in the shade because it was about 150 degrees outside (well that's what it felt like.) It was a great morning and later we had a yummy cookout at Ryan and Nanni's. We also made shirts with fireworks on them that you paint on with pipe cleaners. Caroline loved it! I think Devin's favorite part of the day was getting spun around by Uncle Ryan so much we all thought he was going to throw up. It was hilarious, and he loved it. My favorite part was making fun of Ashley and Landon for being too high class for pizza that night. They were good sports and we all had fun! It was great to get out and have so much help with the kids since Shawn was on call. We didn't see any fireworks but somehow I never see them on the 4th. The kids were already in bed and I was beat!

Here are the girls with their flower balloons and the nice clown lady.

Thanks dad for holding Devin most of the weekend. This is where Devin was most of the time. He loves being up high. Sunday we went out to Katy for my nephew's blessing. Asher looked really cute in his blessing outfit and Ryan did a great job. Again it was really nice to have a more peaceful sacrament meeting since everyone around helped with the kids. We also had some great brisket and delicious desserts for lunch afterwards. Shawn was even able to come out after being on call. It was such a fun filled weekend and we're sad its over!

Don't worry Bexar, Landon makes fun of you all the time, he needed to take it for once.
